Sunset at Mission Bay

We've had beautiful sunsets two days in a row.  I took this last night hanging out at Mission Bay Yacht Club.

Pano from MBYC

I'm hanging out with my grandsons at Mission Bay Yacht Club.  One is busy in sailing camp, the other busy on shore.  I had some time to snap this panorama of the area before it got busy.  Love the big puffy clouds!   It's been a beautiful day.   I used an app called Auto-Stitch to stitch the 5 shots together.  Not bad for my iPhone.

More iphone photos

Sailing camp, fun morning on the water.
Hanging out (again) at Mission Bay Yacht Club (San Diego) watching 2 grandkids  in sailing camp.  So much fun to watch them having fun and learning how to sail the Sabots.

Still playing with the iPhone and Hipstamatic app.

That's Cole waiting for lunch after a morning on the water.
After the sail.

Mission Bay Yacht Club pano

This was shot with my iPhone 3s (5 shots, left to right).  Then I used AutoStitch app to stitch them together, then brought it into Photoshop for final cropping.  Pretty exciting what the iPhones will do!   That's the main club house on the left, Junior Sailing club house on the right.    Great place to hang out.  Don't you love the clouds?

Sabot sailing on Mission Bay

It's great to be back on the water.   Last year my grandson, Cole,  had his first solo sail in this boat and promised to take me sailing when I moved down to SD.   He has named the boat "WIPEOUT" (after the TV show I believe).   Today was the day -- and he even let me steer the boat.

We had a great time cruising Mission Bay.   Weather cooperated with sunshine, lovely white puffy clouds and mild winds.

How I spent 1-1-11

Well, somebody had to enjoy the beautiful sunshine we are having in San Diego and I was happy to do just that. I met my daughter-in-law and grandkids at Mission Bay Yacht Club. We played in the sand (they played in the water), made sand castles, watched a regatta, saw lots of birds -- and generally had a great time. I was home in time to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Loved the changing colors in the sky last night.

Editing question: I was trying to change the placement of the photos and can't figure out how to do that without deleting the whole post and starting over again. Any help would be appreciated!
