Surprise -- a straight shot!

I'm still using the iPhone, just no special effects with  different camera options.  The grey is a sidewalk, the black shadows caused by the roof.   I liked the patterns that resulted from the two.

Hipsta from the road

Travelled from Reno to Redwood City today and shot a few Hipsta's along the way.

The Milk Farm sign has been there for decades.  I just read recently that the restaurant was closed.  Pulled off the highway today and discovered the restaurant had been completely destroyed -- mothing left but a cement pad and waist-high weeds, and, of course, this sign.  Glad I had a chance to photograph it.  I've driven by this sign since the mid-70's on the road to Reno.

The rose was a Hipsta captutre.  (John S camera with Kodot film).  I love the way it brought out the colors in the rose.

Enjoy.

More Hipstamatic

Two more Hipstamatic photos, this time with the Salvador 84 camera.  As you  can see, it distorts photos.  The top one might be recognizable:  the front of a car.  The bottom one is the grill work on a second car.   Pretty cool!   I used the Kodot film which gives the scratchy frame around the edges.

Hipsta in Bodie

Shell gas station

I love the lace curtains.

This trip on Hwy 395,  the highway to Bodie was open!    A month ago it was snowing while I drove south, so I didn't even try to drive into Bodie.   Here's a few Hipsta photos from the morning.  I'm having fun with this app and all the cameras & film  in it to play with.

Everytime I visit Bodie I marvel at the people who founded this town, at the great distances they had to bring building materials, furniture, glass.   One house had the remnants of 3 layers of wall paper.

Hipstamatic on Hwy 395

Heading North on 395, I stopped at Kramer's Corners (Hwys 395 and 58) Antiques and stuff.  Here's a few photos taken in their yard.  Fun place to stop!

Hipstamatic -- fun iPhone app

Paige is ready to go.

Even if it did float, it wouldn't go too far with this anchor!
Last week I walked around an area in San Diego called "Liberty Station."   It was a Naval Training Center and this "ship"  was used for training.    There's a great playground area for kids, plenty of grass area for soccer, parties, picnic areas, etc.

Paige is ready for anything.  She sees her big brothers put on knee and elbow pads when they ride their scooter & skateboard and she doesn't want to be left behind.   At 3-1/2 years she knows no boundaries!
The ship that never sailed.
